Somewhere over the rainbow

On some of my ramblings in January and February I went down to the beach and and caught these rainbow shots.  I always have difficulty in capturing rainbows, so I am quite pleased with these, although I did have to tweak them a little.  Unfortunately, I didn't find any pots of gold!!

I took this sunset photo a few nights ago down at the beach.  They're a bit difficult to see but can you spot the courting couple??

An Afternoon at the Playpark and Beach

On Wednesday I had an afternoon out with the boys and their mum when we went to the playpark and then the beach.  It's never enough to do just one place - both require to be done when the boys come to visit!!  It was a little dull and windy, but not too cold, so we were really lucky as the rain came on pretty heavy later in the day.

Fireworks over Edinburgh

It was the last night of the Edinburgh Festival last night so, along with friends, we popped down to the beach where we had a distant view of the castle to watch the fireworks.  It was really quite spectacular, although it was a long way off.  The night was still and calm and wasn't too cold, so we had a bit of a picnic while we watched and generally had a very good time.  Here are one or two photos of the event, although they are a wee bit blurry even though I used a tripod.  Mind you, given the distance between the event and the camera, I'm quite pleased with the results.

Manipulating and Enhancing Photos

I was quite pleased with a photo I took at the beach yesterday, so have been playing around with it today in Paint Shop Pro (cos I have no idea how to use Photoshop!!).  Anyway, I'm fairly happy with the results so thought I'd just post them here for comparison.
